High Wind Advisory
1015 PM PST Thu Feb 21 2002
...High wind watch for Friday afternoon and evening...
a Pacific cold front will bring increasing southwest winds of 20-40
mph and local gusts over 60 mph Friday afternoon through Friday
evening. The winds are expected to develop earliest over northeast
California and spread to extreme western Nevada through late Friday
afternoon. This includes the east slopes of the Warner Mountains in
northeast California and the Highway 395 corridor through extreme
western Nevada into Lassen County. Secure light or loose items
exposed to the wind. Avoid wind sensitive activities and or travel
in high profile vehicles...if possible.
The winds are expected to become westerly after about 10 PM Friday
evening and then diminish overnight.
