Steve, the Radiosmith, down in Tampa FL did the repairs. He not only repairs Ten Tec but he can handle most any brand. To me he's a Ten Tec guru. When I wrote him of my problem he came back with the exact diagnosis of the problem before seeing the radio. He took under 2 weeks to do the repairs and send it back to me. His hourly rate is much cheaper than Ten Tec and he keeps you informed every step of the way. He has quite a lab with all those pieces of test gear needed to do the job right! He also has a pretty good personal collection of Ten Tec gear. Look him up (the radiosmith) on the Internet, read his reviews on eHam.net, and look for his ad and reviews on Ebay. If you have something that needs fixing and you cannot or don't want to fix it yourself let Steve do it! Drop him an email and get the process started. No, I do not receive any fees for referrals. This is posted just to let my friends know of a good way of getting your broken rigs made like new again for a reasonable cost. 73, Puck W4PM From w4hzdx at gmail.com Sat May 23 10:15:28 2020 From: w4hzdx at gmail.com (Jonathan) Date: Sat, 23 May 2020 10:15:28 -0400 Subject: [CVCC] Radio Repair Recommendation In-Reply-To: <463208604.15758.1590176424720@connect.xfinity.com> References: <463208604.15758.1590176424720@connect.xfinity.com> Message-ID: Very interesting!!! Got this rule change today. *For Field Day 2020 only, Class D stations may work all other Field Day stations, including other Class D stations, for points. * Field Day rule 4.6 defines Class D stations as "Home stations," including stations operating from permanent or licensed station locations using commercial power. Class D stations ordinarily may only count contacts made with Class A, B, C, E, and F Field Day stations, but the temporary rule waiver for 2020 allows Class D stations to count contacts with other Class D stations for QSO credit. I'd be glad to come operate and contribute to the log. Also glad to work some from home and contribute my log to the club effort. This mentions the club effort: *In addition, for 2020 only, an aggregate club score will be published, which will be the sum of all individual entries indicating a specific club (similar to the aggregate score totals used in ARRL affiliated club competitions).* Ordinarily, club names are only published in the results for Class A and Class F entries, but the temporary rule waiver for 2020 allows participants from any Class to optionally include a single club name with their submitted results following Field Day. For example, if Podunk Hollow Radio Club members Becky, W1BXY, and Hiram, W1AW, both participate in 2020 Field Day -- Hiram from his Class D home station, and Becky from her Class C mobile station -- both can include the radio club's name when reporting their individual results. The published results listing will include individual scores for Hiram and Becky, plus a combined score for all entries identified as Podunk Hollow Radio Club. Back in February I realized I hadn't seen a lot of the old guys I was used to seeing at the frostfest. I mentioned it to my girlfriend. She politely informed me that I was now the old guy. I'll be on for a max effort - at least for me. Who in CVCC wants to use W4MYA for FD 2020? I would expect a BIG effort from whomever wants to use it. If no other takers then I want it! Remember FD is ALL Bands (except WARC) and ALL Modes. Pick your favorite modes, join in and send in your log marked for CVCC! If you want to use emergency power and a temp. set up and enter some class other than class D go for it. Mobile is also good. If we must maintain "social distancing" lets light up the radio waves and celebrate FD from home! June 27th is also my birthday number 76! My best present would be a lot of BIG FAT CVCC FD LOGS. Post on here if you will do field day for the CVCC this year. Let's do it! 73, Puck W4PM > On May 28, 2020 at 8:12 PM Corey Landrum wrote: > > > anyone planning on submitting a log?
