Hi,

I'm testing out the reflector's ability to handle attachments with a 2019
CVCC roster.  Hopefully you will get it.  If so,  everyone, please check
your information to verify it is correct; especially the ARRL column.   Our
annual report requires we state how many of our members are ARRL members as
that is part of the requirement for us to be an affiliated club and
participate in the ARRL club competition contests.

 

Reminder, our meeting at Vinny's is tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 7 pm.

Hi Ronnie,

I will not be able   to make the meeting tonight. My roster information is
correct. I might be able to play a bit the the ARRL DX CW contest.. If I do
I will sent you the info. Will not be able to participate in the CQ 160 SSB
contest as I will be  traveling. I will be in Florida for the ARRL DX SSB
contest and will have QRP possibility. I think I will have to log it for
FCG.

First up is the ARRL Intl DX - CW:  Feb 16 0000Z to Feb 17 2400Z

The following weekend is the NAQP RTTY:  Feb 23 1800Z to Feb 24 0600Z

The weekend after that is the ARRL Intl DX - Phone: Mar 2 0000Z to Mar 3
2400Z

 

The ARRL Intl DX Contest club competition combines the entries for the two
contests.  We can have up to 10 entries total for the two combined.  We won
this contest last year with a big single op score from W4MYA.  It will take
a big effort on our part to fill those shoes.  Anyone up to the challenge?
I hope to put in some time in the CW.  Anyone that would like to use W4MYA
please let me know asap.  First come, first serve!

 

We can enter the NAQP RTTY just like we did for the CW in January - a team
effort.  The limit is 5 team members per team.  If you are interested in
being on a team, please let me know asap as team registration opens next
weekend.  I am starting a team called the Doolin Diddling Dudes.  (I came up
with this after hearing the Eagles song "Doolin Dalton")  I plan to use
W4MYA with the name DUDE.  To hold down the confusion like we created on CW,
everyone else can just use their name.

The preliminary scores for clubs for the ARRL 10m contest has posted.  Despite my screwup with leaving out KG4W on the list, we still have the highest local (35 mi circle) posting with 161,100 points.  Second  is 138,256.  We may win this one again as yet!

So far I've not heard any club members in the contest.? I believe Milt is playing but we haven't crossed paths.? According to MIlt, "W" is not playing.? It appears he is eaten up with that 60m a FT8 stuff.? To each is own I guess.?
So far I have 333 Q's for about 168K points.? Still a long way from W4MYA or KG4W's last year scores! ? Help, is anyone else playing tis weekend?

Here's my score at midnight.? I have tomorrow on 20 and 15 to add to it.? Will never come close to MYA and W's scores last year. I might get to 600,000 if all goes OK.
Perhaps the AMP would have helped if I had hooked it up!
Bands from 20 down are in very good shape.? With power and a decent antenna lots of EU could have been worked on 160. I even worked? 2 or 3!15 only open to Caribbean and S/A except the big boys worked a few EU stations too. I got one I think!On 10 I only heard? W3LPL and NR4M :-) ? No points there!

Here 's my results - I just could not catch up to MYA and W's last year's scores.? Of course they were high power and that does help!? Not sure about my participation in the SSB portion. I will have to give that some thought. SSB is not my thing.? DR is volunteering his station for a multi single for SSB.? YOU folks should jump at that offer!? We need some BIG scores on SSB to have any chance at a win!
We had very good conditions for this event on 20, 40, 80 and 160.? I even worked a few EU stations on 160 with a poor DX antenna and 100 w!? 15 finally opened to EU today so was able to add mults!? 10 was a no show!? I hope the SSB weekend is at least as good and hopefully better!
FOR MEL's info - a power of NN is 99. Cute, huh?
I spent 22 hours 20 minutes in the chair for this!? I'm a bit tired

Anyone want to join the Doolin Diddling Dudes as an entry in the NAQP RTTY
this Saturday?  I plan to activate W4MYA and use Dude.  Everyone else can
use their own name if you want to reduce confusion although on RTTY the copy
isn't questioned as much as it was on CW.  I need to know by tomorrow night
in order to register the team.

Both Bruce and I wound up being limited to 3 hours participation and he beat
me out 101 to 87 Qs.
