This actually happened to my neighbor across the street! It seems anyone change your address at the post office either in person or by using an online form! N0 form of ID is required. The Post Office will not help you if you have this happen to you! I don't understand how the PO could allow this to happen. So if your mail starts not showing up, FIND out immediately why?

> A resident in our neighborhood is a victim of this scam and the fraudulent forwarding address was put in 2 days before Thanksgiving, when mail doesn’t show up for a couple days and families go out of town, etc. so by the time one figures out one’s mail hasn’t shown up for several days, the damage has been done.

> If you haven’t received mail for several days, head to the Post Office immediately but don’t expect any help. A local resident went to the Post Office only to find out that their mail had been forwarded almost 2 weeks before. Postal Supervisor would only tell them the city and state on the forwarding but not the address and wouldn’t let them see the form. In this case, the Supervisor said he couldn’t read the signature but would not allow the person to see it.

> As it turns out anyone can go on line, without any form of identification, and frau!dulently forward one’s mail to whatever city and state they choose. Then all one’s regular mail, packages, medicines, paper statements
> from credit cards, banks, investments, insurance cards, Christmas cards, everything is now in the hands of the person at the forwarded address. They have now in effect stolen your identity and your life. They can then open checking accounts, credit cards, etc. in your name, withdraw money from your savings, add new email addresses to your accounts, etc. And in this case, all your Christmas presents ordered on line have now gone to wherever. They start this the day they put in your forwarding address, hoping you won’t discover this for weeks.
