Any scores to report? I heard WB4GVZ in there having a good time. Can't believe how many calls it took for Dave to finally hear me. I worked CW only and just could not get heard. Finally when the snow let up early Saturday afternoon I found that the snow had pulled my antenna down to around 15 ft off the ground. So in what was great weather to work on antennas, I stayed out getting it back up. Finally got it and back in to warm up. Just as I got started again, the power started flickering on and off. That's when I found out my UPS battery had reached the end of its life and the computer started getting shutdown. Corrupted my N1MM file once so spent time getting that fixed. Almost as soon as I got it going again and hit the button to CQ, power blipped again an off went the computer. I brought it back up, everything was fine but with still more flickers happening, I decided to just shut it off an wait to see if things would settle down. Finally about an hour later things seemed to be stable to I started turning things back on. Only this time the computer would not power up! Spent the next hour disassembling it and troubleshooting, finally determining the power supply had failed. At that point I just threw in the towel. Power supply is under warranty, but found it would take almost 3 weeks to get a replacement so I just ordered one from Amazon. Finally got things running again Saturday. Also ordered a new UPS which Amazon received last Tuesday in their local distribution center in Ashland. They then gave it to the Post Office to deliver and it hasn't been seen since. Anybody else have fun? 73 Ronnie WU4G From togburn at comcast.net Mon Dec 18 20:46:35 2017 From: togburn at comcast.net (Tom Ogburn) Date: Mon, 18 Dec 2017 20:46:35 -0500 Subject: [CVCC] ARRL 10M Contest Message-ID: I stared at the boxed up transceiver and begged it to work somebody, but it completely ignored me.
