Subject: [CVCC] Death of John Hickman, N3KJ

This mornings RTD carried the death notice of our John Hickman, who died  on July 11.  We were totally blind sided on this with no idea that he was ill.  There is a gathering at the Jefferson Hotel tomorrow 10am to noon for friends and family.  So I hope that some of his amateur friends, especially CVCC members will be able to attend.  This is indeed sad news for all of us.

It is with deep sadness and a prayerful morning that I read of John's  
passing. I pray for his soul and his families strength at this time of his  
passing.
 
I must officiate as eucharistic minister at mass tomorrow morning and will  
not be able to attend his honored time. 
Please offer my prayers and condolences to John's family friends in lieu of 
 my presence.

Hi Puck and Bob,

Thanks for notifying me of the passing of John Hickman. He was an
enthusiastic participant in the hobby and he will definitely be missed in
the CVCC.

I went to sign into the guest book of the Times Dispatch and was not able to
get that to work.  However, being of the Old School I have sent a sympathy
card to his wife and family in South Carolina on behalf of the entire CVCC.
