[CVCC] Contests

I received ARRL SS SSB summary information from W4PFM and N4DJ.  Did anyone else do SS SSB?  I did not this year.  I don't like SSB contests and had other things on my agenda!

This coming weekend is CW portion CQWW DX contest.  Give if a go.  In my mind this is the premier DX contest because everyone can work everyone else.  Unfortunately I will miss it this year because of an invitation I received.  

Bob, W4MYA, will remember this guy - K4VWR, Mike Boling.  I got call from his wife inviting me down to Greenville, SC for Mike's surprise 70th birthday party.  Mike was a high school buddy (he and "MYA" got me going in this hobby) but he moved to Greenville about our junior year.  He was a groomsman in my wedding and other than one visit since I've not seen him in 46 years.  We communicate via CW from time to time on the air. So while I'll miss CQWW CW DX, I wouldn't miss Mike's 70th birthday bash for anything.  It should be a hoot!
