[CVCC] CQP this weekend

Here's a message posted by my K6RB.  The CQP is one of the better state QSO parties and you will find a great deal of activity from the CA guys.  I'll be limited to 10 watts with my K2 in this one because I took my main rig back to Ten Tec to correct a minor problem last weekend.  I noticed George did a good job in the TX QSO party last weekend and if he has the time this is a great one to follow up with.  It's great practive for the upcoming CVCC sponsored ARRL 10 and 160 meter contests.  Get on and give this one a go.

upcoming Cal QSO Party

This weekend marks another "CQP." The CQP is the California QSO Party which is arguably the US's most popular one. As before, it is CW and SSB (no digital) and lasts 24 out of 30 hours. You'll find a lot of activity on both modes. The in-state operators have an incentive to work out-of-state operators because they only get a single mult for working an in-state op. It's also a level playing field because there are 58 CA counties, and 58 states and provinces.

This year, the sponsoring organization, NCCC, is having its 40th year celebration. If between Sept. 18 and Dec. 31, you work 40 NCCC members (here are the list of calls http://nccc.cc/40thcalls.html), you will receive a nice certificate. Its also a good opportunity to work a many CWops members toward ACA and CCA totals. I'll be QRV for the full contest, and hope to work many of you.
