Well I finally can be called GRAND PA. Cathy, my daughter, delivered the twins today. Grayson Howard Fitch and Lola Jayden Fitch are doing well, although premature at 31 weeks and very small at 3 lb 7 oz and 3 lb 4 oz respectively. They came into the world squalling and are breathing normally. The look like full term babies - just half size. Cathy will be able to go home in a few days but it will be a few weeks before the little ones are big enough to leave the NICU at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of VA.
The last 3 to 4 weeks have been very strssful as Cathy had to spend that time in the Hospital on bed rest, but the little ones would not be denied and did indeed come early. I can't say enough for the outstanding care given to her by the doctors and staff at VCU MCV. While I was worried I was very glad she was at that hospital.
Everything is looking good at this time! Cathy is doing fine but due to the delivery by C-section she will require more than normal recovery and healing time. GRAND MA is smiling ear to ear as are the rest of the Motley and Fitch families.
