Subject: [PVRC] This weekend on the Radio: 20 meters in Better condition
Dear PVRC DX Enthusiasts;
Were any of you on the radio last night?
I was - after 9:30pm. I was greeted by several JA
stations working the mid-west and the JAs were still
S7.
There was also a mild pileup on KH8/K6SRZ in the CW
band - that person was (obviously) warming up for the
Swains Island DX-Pedition next week. He was 15db/9 on
his peaks.
I was just a bit too late for the UA9 traffic but saw
the spots on the cluster.
We are now entering the "good old days" of
pre-summertime propagation and over the next two
months we can expect things to get MUCH more
interesting on 20 meters.
So - if you have been scared off by lackluster
propagation - give 20 meters a try this weekend, you
might be surprised!
73,
Jim WX3B
