Subject: **Possible_Spam** [VHF] FOLLOW-UP: Fred Fish W5FF Memorial Award
proposal
Most of you will remember the proposal I made on this reflector about a week
ago to create an award for working all the grid squares in the contiguous 48
states on 6 meters -- a feat accomplished thus far only by the legendary
Fred
Fish, W5FF. The tentative name for this award is the Fred Fish W5FF Memorial
Award.
I've created a Yahoo! group for the purpose of discussing the details of
this
idea. The URL is:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FFMA
Membership is restricted to licensed hams. When you apply, please include
your
call and a brief description of why you're interested in this topic.
Membership is on an approval (by me) basis to prevent spam-bots from
"joining". Everyone with a sincere interest in the subject is welcome.
When you are approved, you should receive a copy of the FAQ (in its current
form) by email. It is also available in the FILES section of the group page.
Much of this is taken from my original posting earlier this month, but it
has
been somewhat expanded. Read through it and start posting to the group with
your thoughts, suggestions, objections, etc.
Rules are minimal and common-sense: No spamming, flaming, personal attacks,
etc. All goes without saying.
The tremendous interest generated by my original posting on the [VHF]
reflector has been encouraging. Assuming there is still interest,
invitations
to join the group might be posted on other appropriate email reflectors and
elsewhere on the Internet. We can discuss this in the group.
73,
Bill / W5WVO
