Subject: [PVRC] ARRL RTTY Roundup Strategy
Hello,
Some comments on ARRL RTTY Roundup Contest strategy.
The Roundup is not like Sweepstakes as you can work a station again
on another band, DX countries worked are multipliers, states (48 and
DC) and provinces (14) are multipliers rather than sections (Alaska
and Hawaii are DX), a DX QSO counts the same as a USA/Canada - 1
point, there are no assisted/unlimited category only single operator
(LP and HP) and Multioperator/Single Transmitter, if you use spotting
assistance you will be put in the Multi/Single category.
Start at the beginning of the Contest, 1800Z Sat. Check 15 meters at
the beginning of the Contest for West Coast stations.
Take time off during early morning on Sunday. Save time (you can
operate 24 of the 30 hours of the Contest) to be on 40 meters during
the last couple of hours of the Contest.
Look for stations in the Contest from 3570 to 3600, 7030 to 7100,
14065 to 14120, 21075 to 21110 and 28080 to 28095 KHz. On 40 meters,
you'll find more DX stations in the 7030 to 7050 KHz range.
Good luck and see you in the Contest this weekend.
73,
Mike, K4GMH
