Greetings,
The second meeting of the CVCC Contest Committee met at 7:30 PM, 6 February
2007
at W4HZ's home again. Thanks to Jon and Nancy for providing the location and
refreshments!
The Committee recommended changing the combined Field Day and Picnic event
into two events
due to possible conflicts between the two.
Ralph, W4FEG has agreeded to be the Chairman of the Field Day Committee and
is looking
for volunteers. Contact Ralph if you wish to help out and if you plan to
support the effort.
W4HZ has agreed to host a family picnic around the pool, it would be best to
have it
during the hotter months, like late June/July or August due to the water
temerature in the pool!
The kids would have no problem, it's the "other" folks that have the
problems!
This could be in addition to or replace the existing picnic at James's place
on the river.
Will be put up for a vote bt the members.
Virginia QSO Party - nothing changed, looking for a big turnout from the
membership
to retain the Club plaque!
Operations are planned at:
W1ZA
W4FEG
W4HZ
W4MYA (We will use W4V)
WK4Y
Who did I forget?
If you want to operate with any others at these locations, make your desires
known.
Can we have at least 5 stations multi/manned for the entire contest?
If you are not interested in a multi/op. how many are planning to operate
Single Op?
I went to the Sterling Website:
The rules:
http://www.qsl.net/sterling/VA_QSO_Party/2007_VQP_Rules.html
The plaques and sponcers:
http://www.qsl.net/sterling/VA_QSO_Party/2007_VQP_Plaque_Sponsors.html
Here are some of the plaques we could shoot for...
High Virginia Single Operator (if you want to go it alone)
High Virginia Single Operator Phone Only (if you want to go ot alone)
High Virginia Club Combined Score
High Single Operator CW Only
High Multiple Operator Multiple Station
High Multiple Operator Single Station
High Virginia Single Operator Digital Mode
High Virginia Mobile GO WA4PGM!!! (as K4V)
No change on the recommendation CVCC would push for all out participation
and
points generated would go to PVRC in the ARRL Sweepstakes contest, both CW
and SSB modes.
CU tomorrow night
Take care
73/W4MYA
