It is with a very sad heart I read the following from the Virginia Section Managers Report:

 "On a sad note, Tom Jones, K4JM passed away at his home on December 7th. 
Tom became a silent key after 75 years as a ham.  For additional details see
our STM's report for this month.  This can be found on the Section website.

I've known Tom ever since my novice days in 1960.  I've always thought of Tom as my CW mentor.  Some of my first QSO's were with Tom and I always appreciated his slowing down to my speed at the time and his kind words of encouragement.  Tom was a credit to the hobby and a true gentleman.  He will be sorely missed.
