[CVCC] Minutes of September 12, 2006 meeting

     The meeting took place in the Henrico Doctors Hospital cafeteria at 7 PM on September 12, 2006.  In the absence of our president W4DR chaired the meeting.  Those in attendance were:  W4HJ, WK4Y, W1ZA, N3UA, KG4YXP,  W4FEG, KJ4IT, KF4VIZ,  W4DR, K4WNW, WD4LBR,  KF4QQY.
    KF4VIZ gave us a brief description of the APRS system in our area.  One of the node antennas is at 105 feet on W4DR's AB105 tower.
     W4FEG gave a talk on emergency communications in our area and especially the excellent working relationship the AES has with Goochland County.  This is a model for other counties to follow.  A recent SET was very successful and 4 CVCC members were a part of this exercise.  Ralph encouraged all of us to take on-line courses to qualify us for this public service.  KG4YXY gave a brief summary of his role as EOC for our area.
