I've been compiling some stats from the entries received so far (less than 
24 hours after the contest is over)....  Here are some prelim numbers to 
chew.

67 entries thus far;  6,687,652 points - about the same as the claimed score 
from last year with over 100 entries.

For reference, NCCC had about 8.3 million points on CW.

Now here's the fun stuff:

I've received score reports from 17 stations that did not enter in 2005, and 
there are 30 to 40 entries from 2005 without a 2006 score.

The new entrants provided about 83,000 points each for a total of 1.410 
million points.  Every point counts!!!

Of the entries from 2005 that also entered in 2006, there are 50.  8 
stations had a decrease in score - a decrease of about 160,000 points.  With 
all the leaves falling and football games on, it is certainly hard to stay 
focused.  Of the 42 stations with a score increase, the increased points 
represent 1.570 million points in increase with an average increase of 
37,000 points!  The net so far is 1.410 million increase.

We'll see who else shows up.  Looking back at the entries, there are a lot 
of calls that I remember working, but haven't appeared yet.  Of course, its 
still very EARLY.

But, then again, we still need a BIG push for SSB.  NCCC brought home 8.4 
million in the Phone contest.  A lot of points.
