Greetings,

The first meeting of the CVCC Contest Committee met @ 7:30 PM, 28 November
2006. Thanks to Jon and Nancy for providing the location and refreshments!
N4DEN was included due to his closeness and interest. Welcome Dennis.

The Committee recommended the following contests which CVCC would push for
all out participation and points generated would go to CVCC.

1. Virginia QSO Party
2. ARRL Field Day

The committee recommended a committee be formed to coordinate the Field Day
effort consisting of a chairman and two members. W4HZ has agreed to host a
Field Day effort. Possibility of having a family picnic around the pool
before Field Day operation begins, like between 10AM until the contest
begins at 2PM. Family members are welcome to stay longer, but the ops may
take off to operate! This would not affect the May picnic.

The Committee recommended the following contest which CVCC would push for
all out participation and points generated would go to PVRC.

ARRL Sweepstakes contest, both CW and SSB modes.

The committee recognized there are many under-utilized stations in the area
which should be used to generate more points for the club(s) effort if
several operators operated instead of the owner mounted a single operator
effort.

Stations mentioned:
W4MYA
W4HZ (who stated he would be "ready" by the VA QSO Party in March 2007!)
W1ZA
*W4FEG
*W4DR

Note: *Would require station owner approval.

The committee recognized several operators who might be willing to operate
at these stations:

KF7NN
KF4QQY
W4TNX

might be available and if so welcomed.

*Possibilities:
*N4BLX

*The committee will meet again in February 2007 to reassess the
recommendations. This will be after the December dinner meeting and the
January meeting

Take care
