How will the gas prices affect rovers this contest?

My last contest had a steep cost just for Gas. Gas in western Mass is
now at $3.09 at the discount station. $3.29 at Gulf. CNN predictions
today said September we will likely see well over $3.50/gal.

In June it cost me $130 to Rover @$2.13/gal.
What will $3.50/gal cost? $212!

I have been recording the gas costs for a few years now. September 2002
it was $1.45/gal now we are talking $3.50/gal!

June 2005
Miles: 1001 miles round trip, Gas: 60.8 gallons
Miles per gal average= 16.46miles/gal 
Cost= $129.63, Cost per QSO = $0.91 per QSO.
Avg= $2.13 per gallon, Best price= $2.09/g, Worst= $2.25/g

Sept 2004
Miles: 942 miles round trip, Gas: 60.747 gallons
Miles per gal average= 15.50miles/gal 
Cost= $113.55, Cost per QSO = $0.54 per QSO.
Avg= $1.87 per gallon, Best price= $1.77/g, Worst= $1.96/g

Sept 2003
Miles: 1225 exact round trip, Gas: 73.19 gallons
Miles per gal average= 16.73miles/gal 
(.73mpg improvement over August)
Cost= $124.70, Cost per QSO = $2.31 per QSO.
Avg= $1.70 per gallon, Best price= $1.599/g, Worst= $1.899/g

Sept 2002
Gas: 59.86 gallons / $86.90 (15.94mpg / $1.45/gal )
