Gertrude Wilke Bolton

Gertrude Wilke Bolton, 88, of Rockville, came full circle on August 17, 2005
as she passed to eternal life. Gertrude was a devoted homemaker, wife and
mother. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Waddy E. Bolton Jr.;
daughter, Frances B. Woolard and husband, William, of Chesapeake; sons,
Bruce E. Bolton and wife, Brenda, of Bumpass and Ronnie A. Bolton and wife,
Debbie Duty, of Ashland. Survivors also include grandsons, Chris Woolard,
Ted Woolard and wife, Melanie; granddaughters, Linda Rambur, Tracey Lamb and
husband, Gray, Terry, Amy, Katie and Kimberly Bolton; six
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by
a brother, Richard F. Wilke; and twin sisters, Barbara J. Wilke and Betty W.
Powell and husband, Capt. Alton Powell (retired). Gertrude was predeceased
by her beloved brother, Sgt. Joseph C. "Buddy" Wilke, a WWII B-24 tail
gunner, killed in action on this same date in 1944. Gertrude was a member of
Forest Grove United Methodist Church, Ashland. Family will receive friends
Saturday, August 20, 6 to 8 p.m. at Reid Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington
Hwy., Ashland. Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2 p.m. at Forest Grove
United Methodist Church, 13384 Ashland Rd., Ashland. Interment Forest Grove
Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
Forest Grove United Methodist Church, 13384 Ashland Rd., Ashland,Va.23005.
