Folks,

The FT-1500 has been sold, but the rest are still available, and I am now happy to consider lower-price (but reasonable) offers.

Subject: [gnarc] 2-meter transceivers for sale

Dear local hams,

I have the following for sale. All are my personal gear, and all guaranteed to be working. All can be looked at and powered up at my location, by appointment only.

Base/Mobile Transceivers:

Yaesu FT-1500M

Compact 5x5x1.5 inch 50 W FM transceiver, used as base station at W1ZR. New condition with orig mic, manual, mtg bkt, pwr cable and box. $150

Kenwood TM-261A

50 W under dash or desktop unit, 5.5x6.31x1.6 inch FM transceiver. With original mic, manual, mtg bracket. $100

Icom IC-706 MkII

OK, this does do 2 meter FM at 20 W output – but much more! For the VHF op, it does not only 2 mtr FM , but also SSB, CW, AM and data, and does 6 meters as well at 100 W.

Interested in trying HF? It operates on 160-10 M (including 30, 17 and 12 m, and general coverage receive) at 100 W, modes as above. Includes now expensive narrow SSB filter, Better RF adapter that puts out a low power carrier with a push of the TUNE button for use with manual or non-Icom auto antenna tuner. Also bracket and long separation cable for remote mounting of front panel, radio mounting bracket, original manual, Icom HM-118TM touch-tone mic

The only flaw is a “bruise” on the upper right corner of display (W1ZR misstep!). I’ve used it without problems for years with the bruise—come take a look! This is a great value for someone wanting to try HF – and get a home or mobile all-mode 6/2 meter VHF rig in the bargain! $550

Handheld Transceivers:

Icom IC-V8: nice 2 meter FM handheld with charger base – makes great desktop transceiver for repeater monitoring, when not hanging from belt. 5.5W or 0.5W out, CTCSS and DTCS encoder/decoder included, DTMF transmit supported (decoder optional, not included). Includes charger, extra battery, antenna. I may find the original manual if not, it is available on the Icom website. $100

Classic IC-2AT 2 meter 1.5/0.15 W handheld. This was one of the early synthesized 2 meter transceivers (earlier units required purchase of crystals for each channel). Covers 144-148 MHz in 5 kHz steps with thumbwheel switches. Includes antenna, two battery packs and charger and original manual. Works, but both battery packs need new NiCad batteries to run without being plugged in. Does NOT put out repeater access tones, so best for simplex operation. Does have a DTMF Touch-Tone pad, but Icom only had one for the similar IC-3 (220 MHz) radio and sent that, with that logo on the front!

$30

The Icom AH-4 wide-range weather proof antenna tuner, with long cable is available for the IC-706, or most other Icom 100 W HF rigs (check your manual). This is a product in current production. While designed to feed a single-wire against ground, I have also used it to feed coax-fed antennas. $250

If you need a power supply for a base-station rig, I have a Ten-Tec 13.8 V, 20 A supply designed for a TT Corsair available. Includes front panel speaker (needs new driver, if you’re fussy) and wiring adapter for Anderson Powerpole connectors that eliminates the need to connect to TT radio for switching function. Works great. $75

All prices are cash (or personal check for more than $200) and carry.

I will consider offers, after 10 days.
