* WHAT ...Heavy snow and blowing snow expected. Near blizzard
conditions possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions,
including during the morning commute. Snowfall rates of around 1
inch per hour are expected this morning into early afternoon.
Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches are expected.
* WHERE ...Portions of southern Connecticut and southeast New York,
including the New York City metro area.
* WHEN ...Until 1 AM EST Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS ...Be prepared for visibilities down to one

will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow, and bring some

* TIMING ...During times of high tide this morning into early
afternoon.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS ...Shallow flooding is expected in the
most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.
Expect around 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level in
low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property
including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with
basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.
* SHORELINE IMPACTS ...Breaking waves of 1 to 2 ft along the
north shore of Long Island will result in some beach erosion
and wave splashover.
