[CTSARA] Instructional help with SSB for sailor planning an extended cruise

Hi all,

A friend in Stamford living on his Pearson 424 is preparing to shove off for a extended cruise down the coast to winter in warmer climes. He knows I hold an Operator’s license (KC1YCU) and has asked me to help him learn the ropes of his IC-706 and SGC auto tuner before he leaves. I don’t have very much experience using this rig in anger and I’m looking for someone who has hands-on experience. 

If you have experience with SSB, it would be great if you could give my buddy a quick SSB usage lesson. He makes his living fixing anything on boats, is ex nuclear navy, highly capable with ships systems and is a great contact to have—especially if you are a boater.

Please let me know if you can lend a hand, and I’ll personally introduce you.
