The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Fairfield County in southern Connecticut...
New Haven County in southern Connecticut...

* Until 900 PM EDT

* At 600 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated additional heavy rain
approaching from the south that will cause flooding. two to three
inches have already fallen in spots. An additional one to two
inches is possible across the warning area. This additional rain
will likely result in urban and poor drainage flooding across much
of the region.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
