[CTSARA] Vanity Callsign HORDING.

Guys,

As many of you know, I follow vanity callsigns and like to help people get
new calls.  It is a hobby, like looking at vanity license plates on cars,
which I also do.

*Here is something that really gets me angry,* listen to this...

As you may know, if you change your call you basically lock up your
previous call for 2 years so that you can always go back to it.  For
example; Mark changed his call from K8ZW to AC1CW, Mark has 2 years to
reclaim K8CW call.  It's a great rule that allows you to get your call back
if you have buyers remorse. Unfortunately the FCC does not limit how many
of these calls you can lock up.  So we end up with CALLSIGN HORDERS.

Case in point: There is a ham in Florida named O. Gordon Williamson.

Gordon is currently N4TT (a great CW call).  Gordon has the following calls
tied up:


*N4TT*

*AB4CQ*

*K2ER*

*K4FL*

*K4IC*

*N4VP*
*W4WE*

He is currently on the list for 2 new Vanity calls this month:


*K1US*


*K2US*
When his 2 years are nearly up on a call, Gordon changes his call back to
that call, giving him another 2 years to lock up that call.
This really pisses me off !
