Greetings everyone,
Okay remember me from field day, I was the whiny one who was trying to get
onto VHF and UHF . :-)
The day after field day I fell off a ladder trying to put my 160 and up
again and broke my arm. That's probably why you haven't heard or read much
for me lately. But the good news is, perhaps, it might be coming off
tomorrow, although I suspect I will be in a soft cast for about another
month or so.
That is not really the reason for my email. There are really two questions
that I have for the group.
1) where the heck is the 2 m repeater? Going by my rotator. It appears to
be almost due north of me. From Trumbull that seems ridiculous. I suspect
it's bouncing off of something. But if I point directly towards Stamford.
I am a almost impossible to pick it up, even using 100 watts.
2) There were a number of people who asked if I would be willing to give a
class on Buddipoles. I will not say that I am an expert at it, but I have
been very happy using it for about 10 years now. My Elmer in California
said that I was a living example you can do anything with nothing. Not so
sure I agree with that. However, I do really like the Buddipole and I
would be very willing to put on a presentation about it. It would be a
hands-on presentation and we would need to be able to do it outside. But I
really would like to do this.
With regards to my first question if someone can assist me some afternoon
by giving me some signal reports into the repeater there would be a very
big help.
Sincerely,
Emily - N1DID
PS-I had a wonderful time at field day and thank you all for your help and
support for the newbie
