This past Sunday a crew of hams from the local area provided radio comms for the Bike 4 Bikes charity bike event. We covered 2 SAG wagons, 3 Scout cars, and two rest stops along a 100 kilometer route. Because of all the bad weather in the week before the event, and because of the cold and clouds on the morning of the event, event turnout was down substantially from last year - but the hams were out there doing our thing and making sure that the riders were taken care of. This year we used the CT ARES DMR network to provide coverage to an area up in Redding/Easton that is blocked from the analog repeaters in the area. We were able to get good comms up there on the Wilton DMR repeater.
