Hi Everybody!

This Sunday (TOMORROW- 3/15) is the date for the Southington Hamfest at

Southington High School,

720 Pleasant Street, Southington

Hamfests are great places to find equipment at good prices.
For example:
Last year, at this same Hamfest, I saw a Kantronics KPC-3 TNC that sold for
$35 (great price), and a 2 meter 35 w Amplifier (good for HT Voice. and a
must have for HT Data Comms) that sold for the same amount.

Come see what deals you can find!

- HINT: Bring Cash (LOL!)

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE....

The Connecticut Section Cabinet, with the help of the Southington Amateur
Radio Association (SARA), has planned more than just a plain old Ham Flea
Market this year.

Here are the details.

The Southington ARA and the ARRL Connecticut Section Cabinet

Present...

9:00 am:

"The Fried Ham"

- RF Safety

with Technical Coordinator Steve Simons (W1SMS)

9:00 am:

"The Good... The Bad... and... THE UGLY!"

- Life in the Amateur Auxiliary

with Official Observer Chuck Newman (KA1CQR)

10:00 am:

- A Humorous Look at Net Operations

10:45 am:

- The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) Forum

with Section Emergency Coordinator Wayne Gronlund (N1CLV)

New Handout

Also, be sure to stop at the ARRL table and pick up a NEW HANDOUT (from the
CT Section Cabinet) that removes the mystery about the ARRL Field
Organization.

- We hope you will consider your own participation, and pass along the
information to others.

Reserve tables in advance for $15; on hamfest day $20.

Send checks to SARA, PO Box 873, Southington, CT 06483.

Proceeds are donated toward a scholarship in memory of silent keys who were
members of the club.
