Note in the review that the reviewer said " cable is abt $50 from a
dealer".  He didn't mention whether there is an extra cost for the software
in addition to the cable.

I don't see any way to put a different antenna on it (maybe there is and I
just don't see it).  That little stubby antenna will have limited use for
anything but short distances.  Looking at the brochure, it looks like
something targeted for use in relatively short-range work spaces like
hotels and office buildings.
