Subject: GFARA December Meeting

On Wednesday, December 16th, at 7:30pm we will meet at the Fairfield Police
Department, Reef Rd., Fairfield for our December presentation.

Join with us to listen as Joel Hallas, W1ZR discusses common sense ways to
evaluate HF transceivers. HF transceivers are often the most expensive
part of an amateur station. This presentation will help you understand
which features and performance parameters are important for your next HF
transceiver, based on your operational requirements.

By examining the measurement data presented in *QST* Product Reviews, you
will be better equipped to decide whether you need to spend $600 or $6000,
or more, for your next transceiver. He will also show why today’s
transceivers are an excellent value in comparison to earlier offerings.

Joel Hallas, Contributing Editor of *QST, *is retired as Technical Editor
of *QST, *the author of seven ARRL books and continues to answer member
technical questions and writes the monthly *QST* column, The Doctor Is In.

As is customary, light snacks and refreshments will be served.
