All local Hams (not just CERT/ARES),
This Tuesday at 8pm, we will be doing a drill to practice passing traffic
between our towns. The idea is to get out of the house, to a location you do
not normally operate in and make contact with the net. It should be pretty
easy, but it will be a fun experiment.
Here are the locations we need to cover. If you can cover one of these
locations in your town, please reply to me (not reply all). I'd expect you
would need to be "on location" from 8 till about 8:45. After that you can
grab a coffee with other hams that show up! If you can cover more than one,
let me know and I will assign you to one that needs someone.
Locations:
Stamford: A&P Plaza, High Ridge and Buxton, right off exist 35 on the
Merritt. There is a Cosi and Five Guys there if you are hungry.
Stamford: McDonalds at 1103 E Main, right off I-95 exit 9.
Norwalk: Fire HQ on Connecticut Ave (West parking lot, where GNARC parks for
their meetings)
Norwalk: Brien McMahan High School, 300 Highland Ave.
Wilton: Comstock Community Center on School Road
Wilton: Police/Fire HQ, just behind Town hall on Route 7
Fairfield: I need a location here. FF people, please suggest one like a
shelter location or nearby.
Westport: Same, if you are in Westport, please suggest a relevant location.
Stamford folks, you should be prepared to talk on Stamford and Norwalk 2
meter repeaters. Fairfield and Westport, Norwalk is your only choice,
146.475 as usual. Net control will be monitoring Stamford and Norwalk 2
meter repeaters
The initial drill is to use a handie talkie only!! Not a mobile rig.
