[CTSARA] Slinky Antenna Questions.

Hi Guys, 
 Recently I uncovered plans for a dipole antenna made of two " Slinky " toys. It looks perfect for my QTH, but I have misgivings
because I have not heard any thing about this antenna in any contemporary times. ( The article is ca 1972 aprox ). Does anybody know
if this design fellinto disuse because of any problems that emerged since? If not, I could put one up this week.
