Subject: [CTSARA] Fwd: [GNARC] Auxiliary communications (AUCCOM) training
program

CT DEMHS will be hosting an auxiliary communications (AUXCOM) training
program in the state this spring. It is intended for people who already
have a communications background (like hams), and is expected to be open to
all who are interested. It's a two day course that is expected to be given
over a weekend. As noted, there are three possible dates and they want
input as to which weekend would be better for potential attendees.

Anyone interested in attending should contact me ASAP please. Note that
this is not a CERT training event, but if we get some CERT members I'll talk
with Chris Munger and/or Capt. Lombardo to see if we can get this declared
an official CERT training activation.

Greetings, CALC -

CT DEMHS will be hosting an AUXCOM training program in the state this
spring. The current AUXCOM course length is two days (~16 hours) and
prepares people who already have radio backgrounds (like hams) to assist
with emergency communications in an EOC/ICS environment. The prototype
version of this training ran a couple of years ago in Manchester (George
AB1GL & others took it then).

Michael Varney (Statewide Interoperability Coordinator) is trying to address
the logistics for this course and wants to avoid (to the degree
possible) any scheduling conflicts. He is looking to host this training on a
weekend to accommodate those who have to work weekdays. The choice of
possible dates they are looking to host are listed below:

   1) April 26-27
   2) May 3-4
   3) June 7-8

Please let me know if there are any conflicts within your ARES schedule
(public service events, training events, hamfests, etc) on any of these
three weekends. Please also indicate your preference for which of these
three choices is the "best" weekend to hold the training.

I need your replies ASAP -- but not later than Monday, 24 Feb -- thanx!
