Certs, and other hams.

Thank you all for helping us get the weekly CERT/ARES net going! We have had some great nets discussing aspects of disaster planning and response.

Now it is time to try some radio exercises. This week (2/18/2014) we will have our normal net at 8pm on the Norwalk 2m repeater. The question/topic of the night will be to ask for volunteers to be part of the first net exercise. We will be working to try and develop a scenario and then play it out on the net. So I need people to be ready to play certain roles (responders, EOC net control, etc.). This will be easy and FUN.

As we discussed in a prior net, we will also move on to exercises outside, time and place to be determined. Please be thinking about some CERT communications challenges you have had, and submit suggestions for a drill to me (not the entire group please!).

The following week, 2/25/14,  there will be no net. I hope to do the first drill on the net on 3/4/14, unless this conflicts with a CERT or club meeting. Please let me know if it does.

Thanks,
Paul, WB2JVB
(Please forward to your local CERT groups so hams not on the GNARC or SARA lists can get the information)
