And the envelope please ...

8910 points this year, versus 9940 in 2012 and 9816 in 2011.

In 3A
--------
We had 716 CW QSOs, versus 772 in 2012 and 658 in 2011. Given that Andy
was our sole operator for about 18 of the 24 hours, that's an incredible
effort on Andy's part. We understand that he'll be discharged from Silver
Hill this weekend.

We had 1528 HF phone QSOs plus 102 6 meter phone QSOs, for a total of 1630.
Last year we had 1977 HF phone QSOs plus only 20 6 meter phone QSOs. This
year we operated 28 tent-hours of HF phone (one phone tent for the full 24
hours and a second phone tent for only four hours) versus 38 tent-hours
last year, which means that the folks who operated in the phone tents had
higher QSO rates than last year - great job guys!!! And of course the
folks who operated the 6 meter table (they didn't have a tent) also did a
very nice job.

We really fell down in digital. We had a total of 204 QSOs versus 192 for
last year. Unfortunately, we were hoping for about 400 QSOs. In fact, the
whole reason for having only 28 tent-hours of HF phone was to get more
digital contacts. Since digital was my baby, I'm not only disappointed but
also somewhat embarrassed. I'm not sure why we didn't do better and we're
going to have a post-mortem on the digital operation in the very near
future.

In GOTA
-------------
The GOTA tent had 331 QSOs versus 355 QSOs last year, and we didn't get
quite as many extra bonus points for long run rates as we did last year (we
get extra points for each 20 QSOs done by the same operator in GOTA).
Despite that, GOTA was again a big contributor and we thank everyone who
worked the GOTA tent (especially Tony).

Other
---------
On the things that are close to my heart, we had more club members than
ever before operating in 3A. We had a very respectable number of GOTA
operators. We had 77 visitors, including a reporter and a photographer
from the Stamford Advocate, the Mayor's Special Assistant for Emergency
Planning, a police captain, a deputy fire chief, a member of the Stamford
Board of Representatives, a couple of people from Stamford CERT, a
representative of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and representatives from
Red Cross and Salvation Army. We also saw a couple of inactive members
come alive and participate.

And, of course, we got front-page, above-the-fold coverage in the Stamford
Advocate as well as a three minute piece on WSHU. By the way - the
Advocate carried TWO photos of us on page 1.

Thank you all. You done good.

Special thanks to Terry W1TSM who organized the whole thing. Also special
thanks to Steve KB1YLQ, who helped out Ernest with the food and was also
there for all the setup and takedown (and seems to have operated everywhere
all the time).

73s
Jon, WB2RYV

P.S. And yes, that includes the missing 30 GOTA QSOs, which were on Terry
M's laptop.
