Wear long pants, socks, closed shoes.
----------------------------------------------------------
We are going to be at the Observatory, which is part of the Stamford Nature
Center. As the name implies, you're going to be spending time out in
nature - lawns, trees, bushes, mosquitoes, gnats, poison ivy, hopefully no
ticks (but better safe than sorry).
Bring work gloves
--------------------------
In case you have to help out with an antenna rope or move a feedline.
There's a lot of foliage out there and it's better to be wearing work
gloves when you're touching stuff.
Bring bug repellant
----------------------------
Deep Woods Off or something equally repellant. Bring lots of it.
Bring a hat
----------------
It's going to be sunny and hot. Mid-80s with no clouds on Sat, 90 with
some clouds on Sun.
Drink plenty of fluid
----------------------------
It's going to be sunny and hot.
Bring an HT
-----------------
There's this marvelous new invention called "wireless". It let's you talk
from one end of the site to the other end of the site without having to
trudge back and forth, forth and back. We'll use 146.580 simplex up at the
site.
Bring cool temperature stuff for night
-----------------------------------------------------
Overnight temps Sat into Sun are supposed to get down into the low 60s.
Without the sun that will be downright chilly if you're in one of the
tents.
************************
As we've said before, even if you don't want to operate, please come visit
and socialize. And if you want to get on the air but feel a bit
intimidated by Field Day, we'll have someone experienced help you out and
sit with you.
Food donations - or money donations for food - are always welcome.
