Hi

We are looking for hams to support the upcoming Norwalk Regional Tree
Festival. Norwalk and the surrounding towns of Wilton, Westport and Darian
are all participating. The town government of Stamford is not an official
part of it this year; they are expected to join next year. However a number
of non-profit groups from Stamford (and Greenwich) are expected to
participate.

Hams (with handi-talkies) are needed to guide people where to go, point them
to parking and most important - hams would be the first friendly face
visitors see - families and kids when they enter. If you don't have a handi
we will supply you with one.

The event is at Cranbury Park on May 11. Task briefing would be at
approximately 9:30 and the event lasts till 3, although for the most part
things quiet down after the (free) food. For those not familiar with
Cranbury Park, it is located about a mile east of the Wal-Mart on Main
Avenue (old Route 7) near the Norwalk-Wilton border. More details are in
the attached flyer.

Sam, NV1P has volunteered to be the on-site coordinator.

We now need people to speak up and volunteer. Please reply to
pdanzer at optonline or N1II at arrl.net (with your name, call and telephone
number. We can get your email from your response. I know it is a long time
before May, but we need to get an idea of who is interested. Please respond
as soon as you can.

Town governments are heavily involved in the event, so it is an excellent
opportunity to demonstrate the clubs public service support.

We are also looking for ideas. We would like to have something on each
participant so the public will know the event is supported by Amateur Radio.
Email me your ideas.

Thank you and 73

Paul, N1ii
