Subject: [CTSARA] Storm Coverage Update
I'm not going to repeat the info that's all over the media.
Right now there are about 60 people at Stamford High School - which is less
than 1/4 of capacity. Two other shelters (Rippowam School and Scofield
School) are open but don't yet have any residents yet. The concern is that
they will be needed once power failures start occurring.
We have a number of SARA members in Stamford CERT and a couple of SARA
members -- Jon (W3EIC), Georgi (K1GTT), AT (KK1R) -- added their names to
the radio operator roster yesterday.
IF we start getting people in the other two shelters, we will need more
radio operators since we are staffing at least one operator at each shelter
that has residents at all times. In addition, as things develop, we may
need radio operators for other functions, such as transportation teams or
pet rescue teams. I spoke with some people last night and I ask that you
please contact me if you can help, even for just a couple of hours at a
time. We don't need any additional staffing right this instant, the issue
is having reserves that we can call out if needed.
Please monitor the Stamford repeater (146.655- PL100) and the New Canaan
repeater (146.775- PL100) for callups if we need people.
Stay safe.
Jon
