Dear List Members,

Thanks for posting the article about Steve, W2ML. I heard that he had cancer a few months ago. Fortunately he lived longer than was predicted.

I got to know Steve Mendelsohn when I was the 220 MHz frequency coordinator for Connecticut in the Tri State Amateur Repeater Counsel which was the coordinating body at the time. Steve was very involved with the group as he was with the NY. marathon and other parts of amateur radio.

I also worked with Steve during one of the marathons. I handled communications at a specific location on two meters during the event.

While I had my share of disagreements over the years with the man, no one can deny the fact that he did what he felt was right when it came to making the public aware of what ham radio is all about.

Sixty-seven is too young for anyone to pass away but at least he isn't suffering any longer.
