There are a number of important and interesting events coming up

1.  SARA May meeting:  Thursday (tomorrow) at 8pm, Stamford Govt Center.
 Subject: Field Day planning.   Terry has some neat things in store for us,
including some revised antenna patterns, new layout of the tents, and even
better equipment for us to use.

2.  GNARC May meeting:  Weds May 9 at 8pm, Norwalk Shoprite on Rt. 1
(Shoprite, not Stop & Shop).  A presentation on Software Defined Radio.

3.  Bloomin Metric, Sun May 20 starting about 7am.  A major bicycling event
here in Fairfield County.  2000+ riders and hundreds of volunteers,
friends, visitors.  This is one of the major opportunities for ham radio to
show Fairfield County  what we do.  Volunteers needed, please!!!!

4.  And of course, BENNETT CANCER CENTER/STAMFORD HOSPITAL HOPE-IN-MOTION.
 Sun June 3 starting about 6am.  The major event for SARA where we show the
general public (and especially the nice people at Stamford Hospital who
host our repeaters) what it is we do.  Stamford Police Dept really
appreciated our ability to keep track of the location of the riders AND was
super impressed by our use of APRS.    Last year we had 14 people volunteer
and we used every one of them.  Let's do it up even bigger this time!!!!
