[CTSARA] Help needed: audio spectrum analysis

I have two different versions of the same audio device that just sound
different, one very good and the other not quite as good. It’s a very
subjective thing and I’d like to be able to give the manufacturer more
objective feedback.

I looked that the amplifier circuits and they are slightly different
(a few different capacitor values) but their electronics engineer
claims there should be no difference in the output.

I ran my own very rudimentary spectrum analysis and I can see minor
differences in the 1kHz and 3kHz ranges (see attached graphs) but I
would like to see if I can get more specific with the differences and
come up with a scientific explanation for why one doesn’t sound as
good as the other.

Does anyone in this group have the necessary expertise and/or
equipment to help me with this?

Thanks in advance!
