[CTSARA] Good Repeater in Manhattan??

Ken Mak, the owner, has two repeaters. The 449.775 machine is in Brooklyn. The machine on the Empire State Building is 448.275 - 5.0 MHz PL 88.5. See K2MAK's QRZ.com page.

No idea why artscipub thinks the Brooklyn repeater is in New Jersey but it's definitely not. The artscipub entry for the .275 machine is correct.

Ken Mak's a great guy. I've spoken to him over the repeater several times. My first contact *ever* as a brand new ham was with Ken over the .275 repeater. He is delighted to have people use it and it has amazing coverage. I switch to it on the way into NYC pretty much right after getting out of range of W1EE.

Cheers,
Tony

Interesting, this link places it in New Jersey somewhere.

http://www.artscipub.com/repeaters/detail.asp?rid=22849&ln=K2MAK_repeater_information_on_449.775_in_Brooklyn,_New_York

The named location is Brooklyn and the FB page shows the Empire State Building :)

449.775-, PL88.5

K2MAK, a 440 repeater on top of the Empire State building. If you have a mobile, you can hit it from your car on I-95 starting at about Cos Cob.

I'm meeting a ham from Germany (someone I talk with regularly on the air)
in Manhattan next week and was wondering if anybody can recommend a good
repeater to use in Manhattan so that we can get in touch with each other.
We can do either 2 meters or 440.

	Thanks.
