CW Operators new and old are preparing to take to the airwaves on
December 16 for the latest round of the Rookie Roundup! If you're
interested in working on your CW, this is a great event for it.

As always, stations licensed for three years or less can enter as a
Rookie, regardless of license class. If you were licensed for the
first time in 2010, 2011 or 2012, you're all set! If you were
licensed before 2010, you're still able to work all the Rookies you
    hear.

Rookies can call "CQ RR" and work anybody that answers; non-rookies
can only work Rookies. Try calling "CQ R" to get some replies.

The exchange is simple: The call of the station you're working, your
first name. your state, province or "DX", and the last two numbers
of the year you received your first Amateur license.

Rookies can enter as a Single Operator, or get some Rookie friends
together at a single station and share turns at the key in the
Multioperator category (Multioperator teams send the same exchange
information, regardless of who is at the key). Team Competition is
also available: up to five Single Operators operating from different
stations can combine their scores and enter as a Team.
Pre-registration of teams is required; see the RR Information
section of this page for a link to Team Registration.

Logging QSOs is easy! Many contest logging software packages will
run the Rookie Roundup. You can also use the free online program at
www.inthelog.com <http://www.inthelog.com>, or use paper forms
    available on this page.

When the dust has settled, use the Online Score Submission form to
enter! No logs are needed, just fill out the online form with your
results and we'll send you an email that you've been entered! You
can find a link to the Score Submission form in the RR Information
section of this page. Scores must be submitted by 2359 UTC
Wednesday, December 19. No late entries will be accepted.

We'll post results in just a few days. Certificates will be emailed
to all participants, thanks to Bruce Horn, WA7BNM.

Let's see what that CW fist is made of; hope to work you in the CW
    Rookie Roundup!

  * End Quote

73,
Hugo - AA1XV
