Folks,

Stan Rothman is being honored as a Grand Ole Ham by the ARRL Hudson Division
on Nov 13.  Stan was an early member of SARA, has been a major contributor
to SARA for years, and has been a major driving force in ham radio in this
area even longer.  As most of you know, he is currently Chair of SARA's
nominating committee.

I would like to get as many people as possible to attend this award
luncheon.  It would probably be best if we just take seats with the Yonkers
club as per the invitation below.  If you would like to attend, please
contact Mike (KA2FBL) directly as per his email address below AND also tell
me.

birthday next week. He’s part of our VE team as well as YARC’s & WECA’s.

*  I’m writing to let you know that Stan is being awarded Grand Ole Ham at
the ARRL Hudson Division luncheon on November 13th, 2011. We are trying to
get as many of his friends to come and support Stan as we can. Individual
tickets through the Hudson Division are $50.00. A table however is $450.00.
The idea is the club buys the table and resells the tickets making $5.00 per
ticket. We have taken one table and are selling the tickets at $45.00, a
non-profit move to help Stan's friends attend. Our first table seems to be
filling up and will buy a second to make sure Stan’s friends are there. *

  If your club does not have enough people to fill up a whole table, I would
like to extend a warm invitation to your members that wish to attend to sit
with us at our tables. The main goal is to show Stan through attendance that
his dedication and constant giving to all of our clubs has not gone
unnoticed. I know in this economy that the discounted price of $45.00 a
ticket may still make this event out of reach for some members. I’m not
working and I know that I feel it. But we are willing to help someone who
wants to go. Please have that person call me. We hope every club has members
who also can help someone attend who normally can’t make it.

  Please relay this information to your membership. There are a limited
amount of tables available and we need to get our reservations in for extra
tables as quickly as possible.
