[CTSARA] Public Service Opportunities

We've all talked about the importance of participating in public service
events to keep in practice for emergency communications.  Well, we have at
least 8 or 9 additional opportunities to participate.

Our neighbors in WECA participate in at least 8 or 9 events a year (some
years as many as 12 or 13).   Events that they participate in include the
March of Dimes, the Golden Apple Bike Tour, and the MS Bike Tour (which goes
across the Tappan Zee Bridge).  I attended their meeting tonight and they
would love to have SARA members join them.  Their event list is at

Their next event is the March of Dimes Walk on Sunday May 1.  They expect
over 1000 participants.  The event starts in the Mamaroneck/White Plains
area and is easy to get to from Stamford.  I've signed up to help and I
would sure like to see us get at least 1 or 2 more from SARA -- if for no
other reason than to thank them for the use of their repeater for the
Stamford Hospital Hope In Motion Event.
