Sorry for the delay in getting out our Field Day point totals, but an issue
arose about scoring.

First the good news:  Our final score is 9,816.  That's an 1800 point
increase over last year.  The breakdown is given below.

Now the bad news:  It should have been 9,936, but the League is penalizing
us because -- in our desire to introduce ham radio to families (and
especially teenagers)  -- we wound up with 611 GOTA QSOs.  We certainly
won't make the mistake of trying to use the GOTA tent to introduce ham radio
to families (and especially teenagers) next year.

QSOs and QSO Points
----------------------------------

We operated all radios at under 150 watts, so we get a 2x multiplier on our
QSOs.  In addition, there is a 2x multiplier over and above the power
multiplier for CW and digital QSOs.  Thus, each phone QSO is worth 2 points
and each CW or digital QSO is worth 4 points

2504 3A QSOs, consisting of 1846 phone and 658 CW
500 GOTA QSOs, consisting of 419 phone and 81 digital (the rules cap us at
500 points for GOTA QSOs for scoring purposes, that's in the rules and is
not an issue)

Total phone:   2265 x 2 = 4530
Total CW:        658 x 4 = 2632
Total DIG:          81 x 4 =  324

GOTA Bonuses

GOTA bonus points come from qualified candidates operating at least 20 QSOs
in the GOTA tent.  Because of the dispute with the League, we were able to
claim only 440 bonus points (instead of 500).

Since we had full-time GOTA Coaching, we can double that to 880
