Here again is the operating info for the Boy Scout merit badge activity today.

I spoke with Doug WA1SFH (Smiling Friendly Ham) who is one of the main
organizers, and he tells me that they plan on also using the Norwalk 440 machine
(448.075, PL 114.8, standard offset).

Please help out as much as you can by having QSOs with them.

Happy New Year all.

As some of you are aware, hams from all the local clubs will be participating in
a Boy Scout radio merit badge event in Milford this coming Saturday (the 8th).
 They have 46 Boy Scouts registered to participate. I'm told this is one of the
best turnouts ever. I know that Fred (K1FC) and Andy (N2CN) are participating
from SARA, and there may be others that I'm not aware of (my apologies if I
didn't include someone).

We need people to QSO with the Boy Scouts. Each of the 46 Scouts must make five
QSOs of at least two minutes, so they're going to need a lot of operators on the
other end of those QSOs.

The Scouts will be operating as CALL SIGN: W1SPCOperating Hours:
10 am – Noon
1pm – 3pm

They expect to be on or near the following frequencies

VHF --> 505 repeater in West Haven
               Simplex 147.58 (might be 147.38 depending on other nearby
activity)
               2 repeaters in Long Island
6m --> 50.125 USB calling freq.
HF --> 20m 14.342.50 USB,  40m 7.185.5 LSB

Please do whatever you can to participate. This is a great opportunity to help
get younger people interested in the hobby.
