Curt has asked me to work with him in testing the SF 2m. We will be
conducting testing today and again tomorrow. Today's testing will be around
1pm -- Tina (KB1UOB) will be sending strings of transmissions to force a
failure while we check the output. Tomorrow (Thurs) at 11am we will be
inside with the equipment. In addition to voice, you may hear us sending
just tones or just carrier.
We will be linking the SF 2 and 440 so that we mostly will be transmitting
on the 440 and listening/measuring outputs on the 2.
If you hear us testing, PLEASE DO NOT TRANSMIT. DON'T CALL IN AND SAY HI.
DON'T CALL IN AND ASK IF YOU CAN HELP. DON'T CALL IN AND ASK WHAT WE'RE
DOING. DON'T CALL IN AND GIVE US A LONG SPEECH ABOUT HOW YOU'LL STAY OFF
THE REPEATER WHILE WE'RE TESTING. If you do, you'll just mess up the
testing. And yes -- you know exactly who you are who does these things when
we test things.
John GRB -- it would be very helpful if you could turn off Echolink for the
testing so that we're not interrupted by someone from outside!!!
Just for the record, this was the first time that *I* made the request for
access. I made the request to get into SF yesterday (Tues 12/27) morning.
Within five minutes of making the request I was given tomorrow (12/29) at
11am as the appointment to go up there. So explain to me again why it was
such a problem in the past?
