Updates on the SEPTEMBER meeting -- two exciting pieces of information


1.  NEW MEETING ROOM LOCATION:  We will be meeting in the new EOC --
6th floor, room 6-10C.  After you get out of the elevator vestibule,
turn LEFT.  The EOC is at the end of the long hall past the Registrar
of Voters.

2.  We will be having Dan N1ZZ talk about how to get DXCC. He will
discuss operating technique as well as managing QSL's and submitting
forms.  Dan gave this presentation to the joint Norwalk/Fairfield club
meeting back in May and it was really really good.  One of his primary
areas of focus is what the everyday ham can do with the typical kinds
of equipment and antennas that we have (as opposed to the typical DXCC
discussion that talks about how you need to put up a 6 element beam on
a 200 ft tower).  He also has a number of interesting stories about DX
he's worked and samples of some of the more obscure QSL cards he has
from around the world.


The September meeting is going to be on Thursday September 1 at 8pm.
