Just a reminder that we will be having our fourth digital bootcamp session this
Sunday night at 9pm.

Our focus will be transmitting on SSB. It's actually easier to get the settings
right on SSB than on FM since most SSB rigs have ALC metering but most FM rigs
don't have MOD metering). One thing we did learn from last week's session is
that we should do SSB transmission before we do FM transmission given that SSB
is easier to set up.

My recollection is that everyone who has been participating is a General class
or higher, which means that we'll be able to do our transmissions on 20 meters.
If that's not true and you would like to participate, please email me.

I expect that this will be the last of the sessions for this bootcamp. I'm glad
that we limited this "semester" to a few selected participants so that Tony and
I had only a small class size for our initial foray into teaching over the air.
I would like to plan for another digital bootcamp early in the new year and
expect that we would open it up to the club in general as well as inviting
people from neighboring clubs.

I would like for us to run an on-air NBEMS class (one or two sessions) for Oct
or Nov.

I will be sending out class material for the SSB transmissions later today or
tomorrow morning.
