CT ARES In Level 1 ALERT
Greetings!
With the approach of Hurricane EARL and the threat of high winds and heavy rain
across the state, I am placing CT ARES on a Level 1 Alert effective at 0800
Wednesday, 1 Sept 2010. I will be out of state on Wednesday and Thursday, so Rod
N1FNE will be acting SEC for the next two days.
First, please keep informed via your normal weather forecast sources (TV, radio,
NOAA Wx Radio, email, etc), as well as Skywarn Bulletins from Steve K1SJW,
regarding the potential for severe weather as the storm approaches.
Second, please ensure your family is prepared and safe.
Third, please be prepared to assist our Served Agencies if there is loss of
power or communications infrastructure as a consequence of any severe weather.
Fourth, ARES and SKYWARN personnel should coordinate their use of shared
repeater resources as needed.
Fifth, in my absence please keep Rod N1FNE advised of any local ARES activity
and/or request for assistance. I will be back in CT late on Thursday evening and
will resume my duties as SEC at that time.
Thanx & 73, Wayne N1CLV
